General Information

Professional Education is a formalized training geared at knowledge acquisition and the facilitation of transformation of the acquired knowledge into a specific practical service. While in general education the primary, secondary and tertiary cycles lay emphasis on theory, with a minor portion of practical application of the acquired knowledge, professional training puts more weight in the skills that are needed in daily life in a given profession. The solid foundation of professional education consists however ofall the levels of education before entry into professional education.

Goals of professional education include among others, learning the central concepts, principles and practices patterning to a specific profession. The code of behaviour, professional ethics and the assumption of responsibility. On completion, participants are expected to reliably have acquired competencies that enable them enter into a profession successfully. During training, professionals are expected to lay a foundation for their continuous learning (Education) to be practiced all through their professional career. This is the only way of remaining up to date and contribute actively to the further development of your professional skills and your profession in general.
